LETTER: Recommends Neupert for District Court judge

I recommend support of David Neupert for judge, Clallam County District 1.

As the former executive director of Peninsula Behavioral Health, I worked closely with Neupert for five years while he served on the organization’s board of directors.

He is an intelligent, thoughtful, conscientious and highly competent professional.

He interacts respectfully and sensitively with others and is a person of considerable fairness and integrity.

Neupert has been very active in Clallam County for over 25 years, both professionally as an attorney and as a civic volunteer.

His legal experience is vast as well as diverse.

He has worked as a public defender, as a civil litigator with expertise in municipal, employment and landlord and tenant law.

He is also a judge pro-tem for the Clallam County Court and the only candidate with judicial experience in District Court 1.

As a volunteer, Neupert has served as president of the Clallam County Bar Association and the Port Angeles Chamber of Commerce.

He is currently Board President of Habitat for Humanity, vice president of Peninsula Behavioral Health and a Board member of the United Way of Clallam County.

He helped develop both the Port Angeles Drug and Mental Health Courts and donates time with the Clallam-Jefferson Pro Bono Lawyers, assisting low-income residents with their legal problems.

Neupert’s combination of legal skills and experience, his demonstrated commitment to Clallam County and his personal attributes make him an ideal candidate for District Court judge.

Peter O. Casey,

Port Angeles
