LETTER: Opposed to pharmaceutical ads on television

I must say that over the years that TV programming has improved a great deal.

And in order to enjoy television broadcasts we all must put up with the commercial messages, but for the most part I don’t object as I know that they pay for the programming.

But there are some ads that I feel that I need to take issue with, and that’s the drug companies’ ads.

It’s not my job to diagnose myself and than go to my doctor and tell him what drug I need.

I always thought that was his job.

Then if you take the drug there are all the side effects, including death.

Do these ads really work?

I’m not sure that drug ads are a good idea.

I would rather leave the prescription of drugs up to my doctor.
