Shakespeare comedy set for Chimacum, Quilcene

Current and past students in Olympic Peninsula HomeConnection will perform a Shakespearean classic, “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” this weekend and next with shows in Chimacum and Quilcene.

Shows are slated for 7 tonight and Saturday at the Chimacum Grange, 9572 Rhody Drive, and 7 p.m. June 7 and 8 at Serendipity Farm, 451 Cemetery Road, Quilcene.

Admission will be by donation.

“A Midsummer Night’s Dream” follows three separate comic story lines full of mischief, passion and confusion, according to a press release.

Filled with magic and music, this dream unfolds in an enchanted forest where fairies play tricks on unsuspecting lovers and bumbling actors are transformed beyond their wildest imaginings.

Within the wild wood comes an instability too chaotic to maintain. Add to this a secret potion that grants love at first sight, and anything can — and does — happen.

Featured actors are Savannah Artman, Filomena Bertucci, Nola Bertucci, Tenzin Blersch, Kai Campbell, Lavender Douglas, Melody Douglas, Sierra Douglas, Ally Ferens, Ruby Groussman, Owen Hatfield, Hunter James, Coulter Kisler, Basil Lewis, August Maberry, Gretel Maberry, Pascale Sanok, Peter Sanok and Aeden Sisson.

Musicians are Zac Ferens, Viola Frank, Maria Powell and Rowan Powell.

Student production design, management, and tech are by Eli Bufford, Luca Campbell, Stan Raines and Pascale Sanok.

The Olympic Peninsula HomeConnection program is administered by the Crescent School District located in Joyce.

Students may be enrolled as full-time public school students or as part-time home-based students.
