DOWNTOWN WATERFRONT DEVELOPMENT PROJECT COMMENCES
The City of Port Angeles is excited to announce the start of construction on the Downtown Waterfront Development Project. Work will begin on Phase 1 of the project, known as the Esplanade, on Monday October 8, 2012. The City is very happy to have our local contractor Primo Construction completing the work.
During the first phase of construction Railroad Avenue will be closed from west of the Coho Ferry Dock to Oak Street. Traffic will be routed around the construction zone with a detour through the Railroad Avenue / Front St. Alleyway. Please watch for traffic control signs and cones. The remainder of Railroad Avenue will remain open. The first phase of construction is planned to continue through December 31, 2012.
Construction will be temporarily halted during Crab Fest and Railroad Avenue will be re-opened from Friday through Sunday, October 12 -14, 2012.
Detailed signage will ensure customers are aware that all Downtown businesses are still open and accessible. The City would like to emphasize the importance of supporting our Downtown businesses during the construction period. The goal is to complete the project safely with as little inconvenience as possible to local businesses and the public. Workers appreciate your understanding and patience.
Please note that as with all projects - dates may change, and work may be extended depending on weather, progress and conditions.
