Anonymous donor gives $100,000 to nonprofit serving youth

The Boiler Room, a nonprofit, youth-oriented coffee house, last week received a check in the mail from an anonymous donor for $100,000.
"I'd love to be able to explain it, but I can't," said Marston.
"I'd just like to thank whoever this anonymous person is for their generosity."
The volunteers who keep the Boiler Room going are also appreciative.
"The $100,000 donation is incredible," said volunteer Kelsey Caudebec.
"It feels like Christmas or like we have a fairy godmother or something."
Anonymous gifts
Marston thinks the anonymous donation could be linked to similar donations in past years to other local nonprofits.
In past years, anonymous donations of $100,000 have been given to Habitat for Humanity of East Jefferson County and to Jefferson Land Trust, and another of $65,000 was given to United Good Neighbors of Jefferson County.
All -- including the recent Boiler Room donation -- were delivered on behalf of the donor by the Seattle Foundation.
But it's unknown if all the donations came from the same person.
"It seems like there's someone in Port Townsend who likes to donate money to nonprofits in Port Townsend around Thanksgiving," Marston said.
"This was our turn."
