TRACK AND FIELD ROUNDUP: Neah Bay boys, Clallam Bay girls take North Olympic League meet

JOYCE — The Neah Bay boys and Clallam Bay girls won the second North Olympic League 1B track meet of the season.

The Clallam Bay girls won seven events Friday, including two relays, to tally 76 team points to Crescent’s 41 and Neah Bay’s 36.

The Neah Bay boys won six events, including three by Isaac Jay Brunk (the 800- , 1,600-, and 3,200-meter runs) to garner 62 team points to Crescent’s 45. Clallam Bay earned 36 points.

Clallam Bay’s Jamari Signor also won two events — the 110-meter hurdles and the 300-meter hurdles and was part of a first-place four-by-400 relay squad. Ryan McCoy of Clallam Bay won both the high jump and the javelin.

Jennica Maines of Clallam Bay was the sole multiple-event winner among the girls. She won both the long jump and the 100-meter sprint.

Port Angeles at Klahowya

SILVERDALE — The Port Angeles girls won two out of three team duals and got nine first-place finishes from freshman Kynzie Deleon, Devin Edwards, Emma Albright and Gracie Long and in a meet with Klahowya and North Mason.

Edwards won three events in the Thursday meet — the shot put, discus and javelin — while Deleon won the 800- and 3,200-meter runs and Long won the 1,600-meter run and the high jump. Albright won the long jump and the 200-meter run and was part of a first-place four-by-100 relay team.

The Port Angeles girls showed their total dominance in the distance events by taking first, second and third in the 1,600-meter run and taking first and second in the 3,200-meter run.

For the boys, Port Angeles got two wins from freshman Thomas Shaw, in the 800-meter run and the 1,600-meter run, and from Clayton Willis, who won the long jump and the triple jump.

The Roughrider girls outpointed North Mason 121 to 28 and Klahowya 102 to 48.

The boys were outpoined by North Mason 91 to 50 and by Klahowya 78 to 61.

Port Townsend, Chimacum at Kingston

KINGSTON — Port Townsend got multiple wins from Seren Dances at a meet at Kingston, while the Redhawk relay teams picked up three wins.

Dances won the 400-meter run and the triple jump at Thursday’s meet with Chimacum, Kingston and Bremerton. The Port Townsend girls won both the four-by-100 relay and the four-by-400 relay races and the Redhawk boys won the four-by-100 relay.

Port Townsend and Chimacum both had a number of other first-place finishes.
