UNIVERSITY PLACE — The Port Townsend High School girls basketball team clinched a state Class 2A Championship Tournament berth on Tuesday and will play for the district title at 8 p.m. on Saturday.
The Redskins will make their third consecutive trip to the state tournament next weekend.
“Our experience helped out,” Port Townsend coach John Stroeder said after Tuesday’s game.
The Redskins beat Steilacoom 45-38 in the opening round of the West Central District 2A Tournament at Curtis High School.
