SEQUIM — The Sequim tennis girls clinched the Olympic League championship with a 6-1 win over North Kitsap.
With the victory, the Wolves also remained unbeaten on the season. Sequim has won 79 individual and doubles matches this season to their opponents’ nine.
The one match the Wolves lost was close as North Kitsap’s Emma Harper had to go to a tiebreaker to beat No. 2 singles player Olivia Preston 7-6 (7-3), 6-2.
The No. 3 doubles’ team of Arlene Law and Amanda He had an impressive comeback. After they won their first set 6-3, they were dominated in their second set, losing 6-0. They bounced back to win a super tiebreaker 10-4.
Jessica Dietzman and Kalli Wiker, who played for the state championship last year, continued their hot play, beating Karly Rojas and Noey Barreith of North Kitsap 6-4. 6-3.
Sequim (13-0) will next play at home at 4 p.m. Friday against Bremerton (1-11).

BREMERTON — Going up against one of the better teams in the Olympic League, the Roughriders fell on the road.
Winning their matches were Hannah Reetz, who beat Alex Valenzula 6-0, 6-0. The doubles’ team of Abby Sanders and Angelina Sprague had to go to a tiebreaker to beat Jamie Frei and Nicole Barber 6-2, 2-6 (10-4).
The Roughriders (6-6) hosted North Mason (5-8) on Wednesday. They will next play Olympic again at home at 4 p.m. today.

SEQUIM — The Olympic League-champion Wolves closed out the regular season with some excellent play against the Vikings.
“Low score of the day went to Paul Jacobsen of Sequim with a 36,” Sequim coach Bill Shea said. Blake Wiker was second for the Wolves with 38 and Ben Sweet and Liam Payne of Sequim tied with rounds of 42.
“I feel very happy for both seniors Liam Payne and Blake Wiker who not only finished the season strong, but are in a rare club of athletes that have never lost a match in their entire four-year career of high school athletics.”
The Cedars at Dungeness will host the Olympic League Championship on Tuesday with boys and girls teams competing.
In the Class 2A competition, seven players will advance directly to the state tournament while players finishing eighth through 16th will play in the district match at Gold Mountain Golf Course in Bremerton on May 14.
Girls Golf Sequim 204, North Kitsap 208
SEQUIM — The Wolves won their regular season finale Tuesday to finish 7-2 and third in the Olympic League.
Yana Hoesel led Sequim with a nine-hole round of 48 on the par-36 front nine at The Cedars at Dungeness golf course.
Brittney Gale added a 51, JoNell Hill a 52 and Maddie Uranga shot 53 for the Wolves.
North Kitsap’s Samantha Henricks earned medalist honors with a 46.
Sequim will host the Olympic League Championship at The Cedars at Dungeness on Tuesday.
