SEQUIM — The Sequim boys basketball team got great balance with six players scoring at least eight points in a 63-50 win over Kingston.
Lars Wiker and freshman Jericho Julmist each led the Wolves with 10 points each. Wiker hit a pair of 3-pointers. Keenan Green also hit two 3-pointers for eight points. Solomon Sheppard and Mason Rapelje each scored nine, while Charlie Grider added eight.
The win got the Wolves back to .500 overall at 9-9. They are 4-8 in Olympic League play.
Sequim next plays at Olympic (2-9, 5-11) at 7 p.m. Thursday.

East Jefferson 75, Charles Wright 49
PORT TOWNSEND — The East Jefferson boys basketball team got a huge game from Cash Holmes and blew out Charles Wright 75-49 to get back to .500 in the Nisqually League.
Holmes scored 24 points, shooting 82 percent (9-for-11) from the floor. He shot 6-for-8 on 3-point shots.
Keiden Guzman had a solid all-around game with 12 points, eight rebounds and four steals, while Stuart Dow had eight points and 12 rebounds. Traycen Brown also contributed eight points.
East Jefferson (6-6, 7-8) next hosts league-leading Annie Wright (12-0, 15-2, No. 3 RPI) at 7 p.m. today. This game will be in Chimacum. The Rivals also host Bellevue Christian (10-3, 11-6) back in Port Townsend at 7 p.m. Friday.

Sequim 76, Kingston 45
SEQUIM — The Sequim girls basketball team got huge games from Jolene Vaara, Libby Turella and Gracie Chartraw in dominating Kingston 76-45.
Vaara and Chartraw combined for 15 assists, 14 rebounds and 11 steals, while Turella shot 3-for-6 on her 3-pointers en route to scoring 21 points.
“Jolene filled up the stat line tonight, leading us in scoring with 22 and grabbing eight rebounds, adding seven assists and five steals. One of her best games of the season,” said coach Joclin Julmist.
“Gracie had one of her better all-around games. She chipped in 15 points and had a team high of eight assists and six steals. She did a great job looking for teammates and playing tough defense. Everyone got a chance to play and that’s always fun,” Julmist said. Chartraw also had six rebounds.
Hailey Wagner also had a solid game, shooting a perfect 100 percent from the floor (3-for-3) and pulling down 12 rebounds while starting for an injured Dani Herman.
Sequim got off to a fast start with 47 points in the first half and a 22-point lead by halftime.
With the win, the Wolves improved to 9-3 in the Olympic League and have pretty much locked up at least the No. 2 seed among the 2A schools in the league. Port Angeles is the No. 1 seed at 10-1.
Sequim (11-4 overall) hosts its last game for senior night at 7 p.m. Thursday against Olympic (3-8, 6-11).

Forks 67, Chief Leschi 36
FORKS — The Forks girls basketball team wrapped up a perfect league record on a roll, getting 36 points and 13 rebounds from senior Keira Johnson in her final home game and scoring 27 points in the second quarter in a 67-36 rout over Chief Leschi.
With the victory, the Spartans completed their Pacific 2B League season with a 10-0 record (16-5 overall, No. 7 in Ratings Percentage Index). Forks locked up the league championship a couple of weeks ago, but was motivated to keep winning.
“We wanted to be undefeated in league and finish it off,” said coach David Hurn. “We’re very proud of that.”
The Spartans are rewarded by being a No. 1 seed out of the Pacific 2B League and getting a first-round District 4 postseason tournament bye. Forks gets a week off and will play again Tuesday, likely against the winner of Toutle Lake and Chief Leschi.
Hurn said his players are not satisified.
“We still have a lot of work to do. We still have to get better. We’re hungry,” Hurn said.
In addition to Johnson’s big game, the Spartans also got eight points each from Bailey Johnson and Janessa Ramos.

PORT TOWNSEND — The East Jefferson girls basketball team got big games from Penina Vailolo and Kay Botkin in beating Charles Wright 48-35.
Vailolo scored 19 points and led the team with 10 rebounds and four blocked shots, while Botkin hit three 3-pointers and scored 15 to go with 10 steals, five rebounds and five assists. Kaetyn Riley had eight points, eight rebounds and five steals.
The win kept the rivals tied for third place in the Nisqually League at 7-3 (7-7 overall). Cascade Christian is four games over .500 at 9-5, but the Rivals have a two-game lead on them in the loss column.
East Jefferson next plays Annie Wright (11-1, 13-4) on the road at 7 p.m. today.
