Chimacum sports: Cowboys finish fourth in state

YAKIMA — The Chimacum High School baseball team finished fourth at the 2A state tournament following a 4-2 loss to Lakeside of Nine Mile Falls on Saturday.

Chimacum fell into the third-fourth-place game with a 6-2 loss to Othello in the opening round Friday.

Adam Freitas took the loss Saturday for the Cowboys, who finished the season with a 17-6 overall record.

The fourth-place finish is the highest ever in any team sport in Chimacum High School history.
