BMX: Lincoln Park riders shine in Florida

WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. — This past weekend, three Lincoln Park BMX riders shined in the Okeeheelee BMX in West Palm Beach, Fla., to race in the UCI Qualifier and Sunshine State National.

Port Angeles’ Kylin Weitz, 11, placed first in Friday’s qualifier in the 12 girls challenge class and in the 8-12 cruiser class.

Weitz also placed second on Saturday and Sunday in the 11-12 girls cruiser and 11 girls expert races at the Sunshine State National.

Kingston’s Warren Christensen, 8, and Elinor Chrisensen, 10, whose home track is the Lincoln Park BMX, qualified in the 9 boys challenge class and 10 girls challenge class, respectively.

Their qualification means that they will be able to ride and present Team USA in Copenhagen, Denmark, in July later this year. They will be joining their sibling Wyatt Christensen as reigning world No. 1 riders.
