Two take large leads for Quilcene School Board seats

QUILCENE — Ron Frantz and James Hodgson have won seats on the Quilcene School Board, according to the initial count of ballots Tuesday.

Frantz had 325 votes, or 71.12 percent, to Ronald Leon Jones’ 126 votes, or 27.57 percent for Position 1, formerly held by Trisha Freiberg, who had served since 2019.

Hodgson won the at large position with 285 votes, or 57 percent, to Anne Bessey’s 214 votes, or 42.8 percent.

Viviann Kuehl ran unopposed, and gained 94.05 percent of the vote with 22 write-in votes cast.

The next count of votes in Jefferson County will be by 4 p.m. today.
