Aug. 4 primary election ballots are scheduled to be mailed on Wednesday. Contests with three or more candidates will be on the ballot. The top two vote-getters will face off in the Nov. 3 general election.

The Thursday forum will feature candidates for 34 Democratic positions as precinct committee officers in Jefferson County. Each candidate will have up to two minutes to speak, beginning at about 7 p.m.

Twenty candidates in contested races have been invited to speak first, followed by candidates with no opponent.

Friday’s forum is for the three candidates for District 2 on the Jefferson County Board of Commissioners: Heidi Eisenhour, Amanda Funaro and Lorna Smith. The candidates will respond to questions beginning at about 6 p.m.

Email questions before the meeting for the commissioner candidates to info@jeffcodemocrats.com.
