LETTER: Costs of drugs

In a story in the Wednesday PDN, a narcotics raid netted an incredible number of weapons, amount of cash and illegal drugs.

Ten SWAT teams and more than 350 law enforcement officers were involved.

The operation took 18 months.

Although I cannot calculate the amount of money this cost, I am sure that it ran into millions.

Also on the front page, a story stated that the Port Angeles School District is planning to cut nearly $5.7 million from its 2023-2024 budget.

Just imagine if people didn’t use illegal drugs.

The money allocated to trying to stop drugs could be spent on education.

If there were not a demand for drugs, the supply would wither.
