The March 18 letter “Different View” is nothing but typical Republican bull.
As a weapons owner I believe in the 2nd Amendment, but no one should have or have access to military assault-style weapons and especially the type the letter speaks of.
Yes, I absolutely agree we should teach our young people the safe use and handling of weapons but if and when it comes to military weapons they can wait until they are old enough and join the military.
Lastly, anyone who thinks a 10- or 20-day waiting period infringes on their 2nd Amendment rights, which it does not, should be denied the purchase or at least have to wait so that it can be ascertained why it’s so important to have the item without the waiting period.
