An investigation continues into the crash of a U.S. Navy EA-6B Prowler electronic warfare aircraft near Sappho in November.
Cmdr. Jack Papp at the Navy’s Pacific Fleet office in San Diego said Wednesday that the investigation could take another two months.
Some wreckage was returned to Whidbey Island Naval Air Station in December, where the $60 million jet was based. Other parts were taken to the Naval Air Depot in Jacksonville, Fla.
All three crew members bailed out before the jet crashed during a routine training mission Nov. 15.
They were rescued by helicopter.
One airman sustained a leg injury in the mishap.
