West End: Forks graduate named superintendent of Coronado National Memorial

A 1985 graduate of Forks High School has been selected by the National Park Service to be superintendent of Coronado National Memorial in Hereford, Ariz.

Kym Hall, a 19-year-veteran of the National Park Service, will begin her new responsibilities in January.

She succeeds former superintendent Dale Thompson, who retired last July.

Hall is currently serving as special assistant to the assistant secretary for Fish and Wildlife and Parks.

She also serves as liaison between the office of the National Park Service director and the assistant secretary of the interior.

Washington, D.C., duty

Prior to her current position, Hall worked as a regulations program manager for the National Park Service, duty stationed in Washington, D.C.

In this position, she was directly involved in servicewide rulemaking initiatives including personal watercraft use, off-road vehicles and snowmobile management.
