Wednesday’s online guessing game solution

Here’s the answer to peninsuladailynews.com’s first Guessing Game.

The pink suite shown on our website Wednesday was the inset in a 1950s-era postcard for the Chinook Motel at 1414 E. First St. in Port Angeles. Obviously the motel was in its heyday. Today, the Chinook remains shuttered by a condemnation order issued by the city of Port Angeles in 2009.

Congratulations to blogger “j because” who knew the answer — or did a great guess!

By the way, isn’t that a 1955 Studebaker Commander parked next to the swimming pool? (Not part of our Guessing Game; just curiosity on my part!)

Thanks for playing. Look for our next Guessing Game photo out of PDN archives and history sources middle of next week.
