Service on the Lofall-South Point water shuttle route across Hood Canal was closed at 11 p.m. Monday because of an unseasonably strong wind storm.
The Lofall-South Point water shuttle route across the Hood Canal may continue to be disrupted through Tuesday morning.
People who rely on the water shuttle should phone 5-1-1, or 877-595-4222, for updates.
Alternate travel plans are recommended in the event of service cancellations, according to the state Transportation Department.
It said in an advisory:
“WSDOT plans to evaluate the situation and make a decision by 4 a.m. Tuesday about delaying the buses/water-shuttle system.
“If we do delay the buses and shuttles, we will evaluate every hour until water shuttle service can resume.”
The extended forecast calls for high winds through 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Hood Canal area.
The primary route across the canal, the Hood Canal Bridge, was closed last week. It will be closed for an estimated six-weeks to rebuild its eastern section.
