SEQUIM — The U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service and Clallam County will host an open house to discuss modifications to parking and restrooms at the Dungeness National Wildlife Refuge from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. today.
The open house will be held at Sequim Prairie Grange, 290 Macleay Road.
According to a press release, the project’s goals are to provide adequate parking and restroom facilities at the refuge while increasing public safety and reducing long-term impact on the environment.
The project is in its initial stages and all ideas, suggestions and comments are welcomed.
The open house is being co-sponsored by the county because most of the proposed changes will occur on land in the Dungeness Recreation Area that are leased from the county.
This project is separate from the Dungeness Recreation Area Master Planning effort.
