PORT ANGELES — The Clallam County Disability Board is seeking volunteers to serve two-year terms for three open positions.
Applications must be received at the county human resources office by 4:30 p.m. May 3.
The board, which meets quarterly at the Clallam County Courthouse, 223 E. Fourth St. in Port Angeles, reviews medical claims and requests for disability leave and retirement by LEOFF 1 members. The open positions are for an at-large member, who must be a resident of the county; an active or retired law enforcement officer from the Clallam County Sheriff’s Office, Forks Police Department, Port Angeles Police Department or Sequim Police Department; and an active or retired firefighter from fire protection districts No. 2, No. 3 or No. 4.
LEOFF 1 members are law enforcement officers and firefighters who entered service before Oct. 1, 1977; the county only has 25 remaining LEOFF 1 retirees. Applications are available from the Clallam County Human Resources Department, which is located in the basement at the Clallam County Courthouse or requested by emailing Tammy Sullenger at tammy.sullenger@clallamcountywa.gov.
