CHIMACUM — Three people were injured in a single-vehicle collision after the driver said he fell asleep and drifted off Center Road on Thursday morning, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Two Chimacum residents were airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle with head and chest injuries, according to Bill Beezley, fire department spokesman.
They were identified as Tyler Martin, 25, and Jessica Thomas, 21, by Chief Criminal Deputy Arthur Frank of the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
Keith Morris, 19, who did not have a permanent address on record, was sent to Jefferson Healthcare hospital with minor injuries, Frank said.
Harborview could not be reached Thursday for a statement on conditions.
A gray Honda was traveling southbound on Center Road in Chimacum before it drifted off the road, went down an embankment, collided with a tree and rolled several times, according to Beezley.
East Jefferson Fire-Rescue responded to the wreck at 10:35 a.m.
Martin was cited for second-degree negligent driving and for driving without insurance, Frank said.
