Today’s second round of ballot counting is expected to confirm the winner of the tight 24th District legislative race between Republican Jim Buck and Democrat Kevin Van De Wege.
Current tallies from the three counties in the 24th District show Buck, the 10-year incumbent, leading Van De Wege by 1.9 percent.
Clallam County has 9,500 to count this morning. Jefferson has about 3,000, and Grays Harbor is expected to tally 7,000 today.
Although the election won’t be official until certified Nov. 17, today’s counts combined with Tuesday night tallies are expected to represent nearly all ballots cast, county auditors said.
Results for the district — including county breakdowns — will be posted on the secretary of state’s Web site, www.vote.wa.gov.
