Sequim Band plays today
SEQUIM — The Sequim City Band will perform a free outdoor concert of popular music from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday
The band will play at the James Center amphitheater in the Sequim Water Reuse Park, 563 N. Rhodefer Road, just north of Carrie Blake Park.
Bring a lawn chair or blanket to the grassy expanse in front of the amphitheater and a picnic meal to enjoy while listening to the performance..
The band is a nonprofit organization that receives its funding from community donations.
Hike on Sunday
SEQUIM — The Olympic Outdoor Club plans a hike Sunday.
The hike is Mount Townsend Trail.
It is a moderately difficult hike of 8.2 miles round trip, with an elevation gain of 2,900 feet and a high point of 6,280 feet.

Norwegian dance
PORT ANGELES — The Sons of Norway group will host its weekly Norwegian dance at 131 W. Fifth St. from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday.
Dance instruction is planned beforehand at 6:30 p.m.
Admission is $2 for members and $3 for nonmembers.
This is an all-ages, no-smoking and no-alcohol event.

Norwegian reality show
CHIMACUM — Thea Foss No. 45 Daughters of Norway will present Alf and Lulie Hergistad, competitors in the Norwegian television reality show “Alf for Norge,” at 1 p.m. Sunday.
The free presentation will be at the Tri-Area Community Center, 10 West Valley Road. It is open to the public.

Free plant clinic
CHIMACUM — A free Jefferson County Master Gardener plant clinic will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sunday at the Chimacum Corner Farmstand, 9122 Rhody Drive.
A Master Gardener will assist with gardening questions and diagnosis of plant problems.
Bring in bagged samples of plant parts (healthy and damaged sections), including stem, leaves, flowers, etc. Pest samples will help in the diagnosis as well.
First VFW meeting
FORKS — The first meeting of VFW District 14 will be at the Forks Post Home, 110 Spartan Ave., on Sunday.
Lunch will be served at noon, with the meeting to follow.
Special guest Fred Green, department commander, will speak.
All VFW District 14 members are encouraged to attend.
