PORT ANGELES — No one was injured in a travel trailer and garage fire believed to have been caused by a space heater that had been left on, according to a press release from the Port Angeles Fire Department.
Port Angeles firefighters arrived in the 800 block of West 11th Street about 5:20 p.m. Sunday to find a travel trailer engulfed in flames that had spread to a nearby detached 625-square-foot garage.
Firefighters searched the trailer after the fire was extinguished, but no one was displaced and Red Cross assistance was not needed, the release stated. The garage and some property inside was saved.
“Valuation of property and content losses to be later determined by the claims adjuster, building official, or fire marshal,” the release stated.
Two fire engines and a ladder truck responded along with and personnel from PAFD, Fire-Rescue 2, Port Angeles Police Department for traffic control, Olympic Ambulance and the City Light department.
