The city of Sequim wastewater reclamation facility received a 2021 Wastewater Treatment Plant Outstanding Performance award from the Department of Ecology.

This is the third consecutive year the facility has been recognized for its full compliance with its National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System permit.

Sequim is one of 124 plants, out of more than 300 statewide, to earn this award; the city has earned it for 10 of the last 11 years.

Other North Olympic Peninsula wastewater treatment facilities recognized this year include Dosewallips State Park, the city of Forks, Sunland, Olympic Corrections, the city of Port Angeles and both the wastewater and the bio-solids wastewater treatment facilities in Port Townsend.
