SEQUIM — A man wearing a bandanna over his face robbed Hollywood Video at gunpoint Friday night, ordering everyone in the store into a back room before absconding with hundreds of dollars in cash.
It was the city’s first armed robbery in nearly six years, police said.
Police are looking into whether the crime is connected to other similar robberies at Hollywood Video stores that have occurred in recent months throughout Western Washington.
“We’re certainly investigating the possibility,” Sequim Police Sgt. Sheri Crain said Saturday.
The Sequim robbery happened about 11:50 p.m. Friday, when a man wearing the dark-colored bandanna, black clothing, a dark hat and a beanie entered the store at 755 W. Washington St. and pointed a black, semiautomatic handgun at the three customers and two employees inside, Crain said.
