PORT ANGELES — The City of Port Angeles is accepting applications for the Association of Washington Cities’ Center for Quality Communities scholarships until 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 9.
The center will award up to ten $2,500 scholarships in March.
The scholarships are available through a statewide competitive process for students who are actively engaged in their city government, community, or school, and plan to attend an accredited college or trade school in fall 2023.
The city council will select one student nominee for consideration for the scholarship.
Recipients will be notified by the association in March and will be introduced during a luncheon at association’s annual conference in Spokane on June 22.
Applicants must be active in community leadership and civic service through city government, community groups, or school, either now or in the past; eligible to earn a high school diploma, homeschool diploma, or GED in spring/summer 2023; Planning to continue education in the 2023-24 academic year at an accredited college or trade school at least half-time; and be a Washington state resident.
