Road work scheduled throughout North Olympic Peninsula this week

Other construction and maintenance work may slow drivers on the North Olympic Peninsula this week.

State Department of Transportation projects in Clallam and Jefferson counties are:

• Paving of U.S. Highway 101 from Simdars Road to Old Gardiner Road.

The work will be done at night, between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.

One-way, alternating traffic both directions on the highway is to be expected while workers pave the section of road.

• Centerline rumble strips installed on sections of Highway 101 and state Highways 112 and 113.

The sections will be between the Cedar Creek Bridge and the Indian Creek Bridge on 101; from six miles east of the Makah reservation on 112 to 101; and between the 101 and 112 intersections on 113.

Pilot-car and flagger-controlled, one-way alternating traffic can be expected between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday.

• Grinding and installation of fog stripes on Highway 101 between North Lilac Avenue to Straight View Drive.

Single-lane closure can be expected between 7 a.m. and 3 p.m. Monday through Wednesday.

• Tree removal on the sides of both directions of Highway 101 at Sequim Bay State Park.

Flagger-controlled, one-way alternating traffic can be expected between 7 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. Thursday.

• Paving and other work on a stretch of Highway 101 in West Jefferson County.

The work will be done on both directions of 101, south of Artic, between West Boundary Road and Clearwater Road between 7 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.

Pilot-car-controlled, one-way alternating traffic in both directions can be expected.

• Ditch cleaning for both directions of Highway 101 at Lost Creek Bridge.

Work is planned between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday.

Flagger-controlled, one-way alternating traffic can be expected.

• Ditch cleaning for both directions of Highway 101 between Olympic National Park and Kalaloch.

Flagger-controlled, one-way alternating traffic can be expected between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday.
