PORT TOWNSEND — There will be a First Aid at Sea workshop from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday, April 5.
The U.S. Coast Guard-approved training program will be presented at the Northwest Maritime Center, 431 Water St.
The course costs $100 per person, $50 for commercial fishermen.
The course will cover CPR, patient assessment, hypothermia and cold water response, near drowning, shock and trauma, burns and fractures, choking, patient immobilization and first aid kits.
The workshop is sponsored by Washington Sea Grant, Washington State University’s Jefferson County Extension and the maritime center.
