Port Townsend: Filming under way for DreamWorks movie

PORT TOWNSEND — Star-struck fans had to be mariners Tuesday to get any glimpse of filming of “Ring,”‘ starring Naomi Watts, Martin Henderson and Brian Denis Cox.

The DreamWorks SKG production filmed aboard the Washington State Ferry Quinault as it plied the waters of Admiralty Inlet, Port Townsend Bay and the Strait of Juan de Fuca.

Spokesperson Alex Worman said filming would take place today at the Washington State Ferry dock, though he couldn’t say whether spectators would get a chance to see much of the moviemaking.

The filming should be at the old state ferry dock on Quincy Street on Thursday and Friday.

The production company has requested that Port Townsend restrict parking at the Waterman-Katz Building on Friday. Madison Street, adjacent to City Hall, will also be closed Friday for parking for the large trucks involved in the movie.
