PORT LUDLOW — An experimental aircraft pilot survived a crash landing in his homebuilt aircraft after just missing two cyclists riding bikes along South Point Road.
Kenton J. McCormack, believed to be from the Auburn area, was listed in satisfactory condition at Harborview Medical Center in Seattle late Saturday night.
McCormack was apparently part of an aviation group that had flown from an Auburn-area airport to Jefferson County International Airport south of Port Townsend for lunch, officials said.
He may have been returning to the Auburn area at the time of the crash.
