PORT ANGELES — City officials on Thursday will hold the third of seven meetings to answer annexation questions.
The meeting is 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. in the Roosevelt Middle School Library, 106 Monroe Road.
Port Angeles officials are studying annexation of unincorporated residential and commercial areas of Clallam County from the city’s eastern boundary to Morse Creek.
The area includes several car dealers, Wal-Mart, Les Schwab and the new Safeway complex as well as the Gales Addition, Bayview and Mount Pleasant neighborhoods.
Residents opposing the annexation effort say they are worried about higher taxes, sewer assessments and commercial development of the area.
