PORT ANGELES — A boil-water alert for the area around Fifth and A streets in Port Angeles has been lifted.
The alert was sent out Wednesday after an unplanned water outage during an unexpected water main repair.
A old PVC 2-inch pipe broke at the fitting and city crews cut in a new piece of pipe, said Thomas Hunter, public works director.
The outage began at 8:30 a.m. Wednesday. City officials said water service was fully restored by noon.
Satisfactory water test results warranted lifting the precautionary boil water notice, the city announced Thursday.
