PORT ANGELES — No one was injured in a fire that destroyed a vehicle at Front and Ennis streets, according to a press release from the Port Angeles Fire Department.
Firefighters were dispatched about 10 a.m. Monday to a reported vehicle fire in the 100 block of North Ennis Street. The crew arrived to find the vehicle blocking the southbound lane with its engine compartment on fire, the press release stated.
The driver had exited the vehicle and the fire was extinguished quickly. Traffic control and protection of a nearby storm drain were set up, the fire department said. The cause remained under investigation.
The Port Angeles Fire Department responded with one engine and one medic unit, with another medic unit responding from Olympic Medical Center. Port Angeles police and the Washington State Patrol provided traffic control.
