PORT ANGELES — Rick Moon says he can’t imagine what the holidays would be like without a frontyard packed with stuffed animals, wooden reindeer, a motorized train and even a nativity scene.
This December, like every December since 1988, Moon said he has spent dozens of hours setting up and running a Christmas display that takes up the entire front lawn of his home at 1411 Pine St.
“It’s just fun,” said Moon, a husband and father of two, when asked why he still does it. “A lot of people have made it a family tradition. So if I just stopped, it would ruin it for everybody.”
Moon has built a motorized train, Ferris wheel, teeter-totter and a miniature ski lift, which carry a collection of stuffed toys and Christmas characters.
