Port Angeles man sentenced to 16 years, 8 months in prison for child rape

PORT ANGELES — Walter Floyd Mozingo was sentenced today (Tuesday) to 16 years, 8 months in prison for child rape.

The 52-year-old Port Angeles man pleaded guilty April 7 to three counts of first-degree rape of a child.

Mozingo admitted to having sex on multiple occasions with three minor females over a span of many years, according to arrest reports.

Mozingo, who was sentenced in Clallam County Superior Court, will be subject to lifetime supervision and registration as a sex offender, said Michele Devlin, Clallam County chief criminal deputy prosecutor.

A single count of third-degree rape of a child was dismissed as part of a negotiated plea agreement.
