PORT ANGELES — Westport Shipyard Inc. human resources representatives were actively recruiting employees Monday morning during the company’s grand opening.
Craig Clark, Westport human resource manager, and Kristy McAuley, human resource administrative assistant, were taking applications and answering questions about the company’s employment opportunities in Port Angeles.
Clark said about 12 employees — 10 from Port Angeles — have been recruited already.
“We’re just going from here,” Clark said.
The plant employs about 20 and is expected to have between 80 and 100 more workers as production steps up after the end of the year.
By the end of 2004, an additional 100 employees will be added to the staff, said Westport Port Angeles General Manager Lee Taubeneck.
