Port Angeles business students honored

PORT ANGELES — Student awards and graduation honors, 147 awards in all, were presented last week at the Annual Career & Technical Education Awards Ceremony at Port Angeles High School.

Christina Costello was recognized as Business Student of the Year at the ceremony Thursday.

Courtney Lemon received the honor of Marketing Student of the Year.

Lance Alderson was announced as Trade & Industry Student of the Year.

Thirteen students will receive business honors upon graduation June 15.

They are Lemon, Emma Acheson, Kelsey Coffman, Meleny Fors, Brooklyn Hargraves, Stephanie Lindquist, Josh Mabrey, Elspeth McGlocklin, Nicole McGoff, Erika Olson, Jeffrey Wahlsten, Kristopher Wannquist and Jessy Yesiki.

Career & Technical Education Coordinator Lisa Joslin, who also teaches business courses and serves as the chairwoman of the business department, and business instructors Bernie Brabant, Rachael Ward and Jennifer Kunkel presented awards for information services, computer applications, accounting and marketing proficiency.

Trade and Industry Department awards were given for automotive technology, computer electronics, drafting, machine tool technology and woods technology.

Trade & Industry instructors Tim Branham, Mike Frick, Mike Hansen, John Mitchell, Donna Moreau, and Tim Winn recognized nine students who will receive Trade & Industry Honors at graduation.

In addition to Alderson, they are Logan Avery, Reggie Burke, Laura Cooke, Gunnar Eisele, Joel Elder, Bradley Reandeau, Johnathan Weider and Michael Wood.
