PORT TOWNSEND — Northern California poets and performers Dale and Laura Pendell will come up to the Northwind Arts Center for a free reading at 7 tonight.
Dale Pendell is the author of the award-winning Pharmako trilogy, a literary history of psychoactive plants.
His poetry is widely anthologized, most recently in The Wisdom Book of American Buddhist Poetry.
He was also the founding editor of Kuksu: Journal of Backcountry Writing. His recent books include The Language of Bird: Some Notes on Chance and Divination.
Laura Pendell writes poetry and raises Ponderosa pine, oak and manzanita trees on the untamed 12 acres where she and Dale live in Nevada County, Calif.
They also have a performing group, Oracular Madness, that has appeared at the Burning Man festival in Nevada.
