Motorcyclist dies in Brinnon wreck

BRINNON — A motorcyclist from the Bremerton naval base on a recreational ride with three others died Friday afternoon after running into a truck and trailer near the intersection of Hjelviks Road and U.S. Highway 101 in Brinnon.
Brinnon Fire Department Chief Tim Manly said the truck and camper was making a left turn into a parking lot at about noon when the motorcyclist tried to pass.
The motorcycle hit the camper at the passenger door, he said. The motorcyclist, who remained unidentified Friday, died at the scene.
Manly said State Patrol troopers were on the scene investigating Friday.
The rider was part of a group of four active U.S. Navy members from Bremerton.
