PORT HADLOCK — Jefferson County officials should determine how big of a problem seawater intrusion is on Marrowstone Island before restricting any water use, says a new report.
Five members of the Jefferson County Planning Commission voted Wednesday night to approve the report — created by a county subcommittee — and forward it to the Board of County Commissioners for Monday’s meeting.
One committee member abstained from the vote.
Jenny Davis, a committee member, said the sub-committee found that wells have not been properly identified on maps and that there is a lack of adequate scientific information about seawater intrusion.
