The Northwest School of Wooden Boatbuilding graduated a sixth class of marine systems technicians at a March 18 ceremony.
The graduates are Wendy Apfel, Raphael Brouillette, Pualani Brown, Steffen Brown, Peter Dragula, Lauren Duehring, Kalika Elofson, Erika Ensminger, Brenna Franklin, Brandon Garms,Ben Knight, Corey Largo, Lea LeGardeur, Andy Politz, Liam Rolfe, Martin Sulkosky and Scott Wielbicki.
Students receive classroom instruction blended with hands-on practice in marine electrical, plumbing, outboard and diesel engines, electrical propulsion, steering and controls, HVAC, hydraulics and corrosion.
The program is designed to prepare students to enter the maritime workforce.
The class has a 75 percent job placement rate, according to a press release from the school.
