PORT ANGELES — A 53-year-old Port Angeles man was listed in stable condition at Olympic Medical Center Friday night after he crossed Race Street on a bicycle during the evening commute and collided with a four-door passenger car in the southbound lane between First and Second streets.
Arnold Warren was conscious and alert at the Port Angeles hospital about two hours after the 4 p.m. wreck, Port Angeles Police Officer Sky Sexton said.
Port Angeles Fire Captain Jamie Mason said he was treated in the emergency room by a trauma team.
Police blocked the thoroughfare for about a half hour to ensure the safety of Warren and emergency personnel, Mason said.
The driver of the vehicle was not cited.
Warren was issued a traffic infraction for crossing the road diagonally without giving vehicles adequate time to stop, Sexton said.
