A man died of injuries sustained in a head-on collision Tuesday night south of town, Washington State Patrol reported.
The collision occurred on state Highway 20 near Highway 19 at about 8:21 p.m., said Trooper Brain George, a State Patrol spokesman.
Highway 20 was shut down for the investigation.
The man’s name, age and place of residence were not available.
The man was driving southbound on the highway in a Dodge pickup truck when his vehicle crossed the centerline and struck a full-size Chevrolet pickup heading northbound, George said.
The status of the Chevrolet and its passengers were not known.
A female passenger in the Dodge was transported to Jefferson Healthcare hospital for treatment, George said.
