PORT TOWNSEND — Jefferson Transit Authority has announced expanded service on its Kingston Express route beginning May 5.
The route currently completes two round trips Monday through Saturday. Under the new schedule, there will be a third round trip on weekdays and an evening round trip on Saturdays.
The new schedule will be in effect through Sept. 27.
The Kingston Express provides service from the Haines Place Park & Ride, 440 12th St., Port Townsend, to the Washington State Ferry terminal in Kingston with stops at the Four Corners Park & Ride, 63 Four Corners Road, Port Townsend, and the Gateway Visitor Center, 93 Beaver Valley Road, Port Ludlow.
“We’re excited to expand service on the #14 Kingston Express in direct response to what our riders have asked for — more flexibility and better connections,” said Nicole Gauthier, general manager of Jefferson Transit Authority. “This added trip is about listening to our community and making it easier for people to stay connected — to services, to work, to family and to the region.”
Riders on Route #14 can connect with either the Washington State Ferry to Edmonds, the Kitsap Transit Fast Ferry to Seattle or to Kitsap Transit bus lines.
