Input solicited on selection of Sequim school superintendent

SEQUIM — The Sequim School Board and its contracted firm seeking a new district superintendent want district staff and the public to say what they want in the top leadership position.

The consultant firm McPherson & Jacobson will hold sessions Wednesday and Thursday. Residents living in the school district are invited to attend any of the meetings with the consultant.

On Wednesday:

■ At 8:30 a.m., administrators and support staff will meet with the search firm in the boardroom at historic Sequim High School, the brick building at 503 N. Sequim Ave.

■ At 10 a.m., the district office staff will meet with the search firm in the boardroom.

■ At 11:30 a.m., maintenance, paraeducators and support staff will meet in the boardroom.

■ At 1 p.m., the board meets with high school and middle school students in the boardroom.

■ At 3:30 p.m., teachers, paraeducators and secretaries meet at the boardroom or the high school auditorium next door, depending on attendance.

■ At 6:30 p.m., the board and consultant firm meets with parents at the high school auditorium or boardroom, depending on turnout.

On Thursday at 8:15 a.m., the board and search firm meet with transportation staff at the transportation office.

Each group will be responding to the same set of questions.

The search firm will use the results to assist in screening and qualifying the applicants.

It will collate the information for a presentation to the board Feb. 6, and the board may use some of the feedback to formulate possible questions for use during the interview process.

A website with details of the search, how to respond to the search firm’s questions and to leave feedback for the search team can be found at https://sites.google.com/site/ssdsearch.
