High winds arrive in Jefferson County

Waves crash onto the deck of the Hood Canal Bridge about 30 feet above the surface of the water Tuesday. High winds prompted temporary closures of the Hood Canal Bridge on Tuesday.

Below, waves hit the beach of Fort Worden State Park on Tuesday as strong wind gusts blew through the area throughout the day.

A wind advisory is in effect for the Puget Sound region until 4 a.m. today, according to the National Weather Service. A flood watch is in effect until 4 p.m. today.
