Garage fire extinguished

PORT ANGELES — Clallam County Fire District 2 firefighters work to extinguish a garage fire at 61 Whispering Firs Road west of Port Angeles on Wednesday.

The blaze was contained to the garage, but damage to one corner of the adjoining house rendered it unfit for habitation, forcing the three residents, who were not hurt, to seek other accommodations for the night.

It is considered to have been an accidental fire, said Chief Jake Patterson, who said residents had told of electrical issues.

The Port Angeles Fire Department responded to the scene on a request for mutual aid.
