Flag Day ceremony slated for Saturday

SEQUIM — The American Legion’s Jack Grennan Post 62 will host a Flag Day celebration at 2 p.m. Saturday.

The ceremony will be at the post, 107 E. Prairie St., Sequim.

The ceremony will feature a military-style flag retirement led by Nancy Zimmerman, the commander of Post 62.

Zimmermann, also a member of the Michael Trebert Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution, teaches the meaning of the flag and proper flag etiquette in classrooms from Forks to Sequim.

Following the ceremony, guests are invited to enjoy refreshments provided by the Michael Trebert DAR chapter.
